During the badminton tournament “Yonex Latvia International 2022”, a practical seminar for new and already known international level umpires, will be held in Jelgava, Latvia, from August 31 to September 4. The seminar will be led by Gunārs Lūsveris, a BWF certified umpire.
The era of semi-professional umpires has dawned in badminton, with members of the first batch appointed by BWF officiating at the Asian Leg in January and at the recently-concluded Yonex Swiss Open 2021.
